I have enjoyed playing on a number of violins made by Rock Eggen and found them to be very responsive and rich in tone-excellent workmanship, and very beautiful to the eye.

Former Concertmaster of the Kansas City Philharmonic
and the Denver Symphony Orchestra
I have known Rock Eggen for nearly a lifetime and his work has always been of the highest quality. My students have appreciated the care and attention they have received from him as well as the superior quality of his workmanship.
Desiree Ruhstrat
Head of Strings Music Institute of Chicago
I have had the privilege of knowing Mr. Eggen for many years. I have always admired his workmanship, both as a world-class violinmaker and restoration expert. In addition to his talent, he is also a wonderful person.
Robert Stoyanov
Violinist, Colorado Symphony Orchestra
During my long career as a cellist, I have visited many violin shops worldwide. I feel fortunate to have found Rock Eggen in Denver, a superb craftsman to whom I have trusted many precious instruments for delicate maintenance. His new instruments, especially his antiqued ones, show a remarkable sense of aesthetic beauty and superb varnish. I feel that Rock can rank with the best contemporary Italian violin makers.
Jurgen de Lemos
Former principal cellist of the Colorado Symphony
Former member New York Philharmonic
A Rock Eggen instrument is a player’s haven for quality of response and sheer aesthetic workmanship. I love my Eggen violin and would use it professionally anywhere, anytime.
Arthur Knebel
Former violinist/violist in major orchestras such as the
Denver, Dallas and St. Louis Symphonies
Now 6 years old, my violin, crafted by the master maker Rock Eggen, is a modern hybrid of the older traditions of Maggini and the Amatis. She is a beauty to the eyes, with a wide grained spruce top and a distinctive poplar back that reminds me of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” Her tone is as sweet as it is sorrowful. I love this violin, and hope to play it until the day I won’t be able to, but then have the privilege to go on listening to it in the hands of a violinist who can awaken its voice, too.

Violins made by Rock T. Eggen are not only top-level tools of the trade, but also beautiful works of art. I have owned violins by several top makers in the United States, and believe Rock’s instruments stand shoulder to shoulder, both artistically and tonally. Bravo!
